GEOTHERMAL
The earth has the ability to absorb and store heat energy. That heat energy is extracted from the ground by a liquid medium (water or an anti-freeze solution) and pumped through a heat exchanger. The heat pump heat exchanger then transfers that heat to your home or business using standard ductwork to circulate ninty to one hundred and five degree warm air. In the summer the entire process is reversed and heat from your home or business is removed and transfered to the earth via the water or anti-freeze solution, thus cooling your home.
The three main components of the geothermal heat pump are:
- Heat Pump Unit
- The Liquid Heat Exchanger
- Air Delivery System (ductwork)
Geothermal heat pumps are 3.5 to 5 times as efficient as the most efficient fossil fuel furnace.
Instead of burning a combustable fuel to generate heat geothermals simply move heat that already exists.
